The game of golf is played by what are called strokes. A stroke is the when you hit a golf ball. You have to hit the golf ball in the hole in a certain amount of strokes. For instance, a par 4 should take you four shots to get the ball in the hole. It's the same also with a par 3 or par 5. The tee box is where you start the hole and the green (shown in the picture) is where you finish the hole by putting the ball in it.
